Abstract

Contemporary Kazakhstani society is characterized by a number of factors that demonstrate significant changes in the formation of personality. One of these is the factor of multiple identity, which largely determines both the process of individual self-identification and the social processes of spiritual development. Multiple identity determines the dynamics of social and personal interactions, shaping a space in which basic principles become flexible. This creates conditions both for more advanced personal development and for the possibility of serious personal disintegration, including the inability to form a stable and integrated system of identification, which becomes a problem not only for the individual but for society as a whole. This article is devoted to the analysis of existing concepts of multiple identity and processes of identification in Kazakhstani society, which, due to its multicultural character and its experience of living within various historical, political, cultural, and ideological frameworks, represents a relevant field for the study of multiple identity.

Key words: identity, personal identification, multiple identity, Kazakhstani society, values.
