Editorial policy of the journal*

          Al-Farabi is a periodical publication aimed at a professional audience.

It has been published since 2003 by the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
            The journal provides scientific assistance in raising the professional level of scientists' research corps, teaching staff of universities and colleges, as well as the dissemination of philosophical, political science and socio-humanitarian knowledge among a wide range of readers.
            The founder of the publishing is the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the RK MES CS.

            The journal carries out scientific and publication activities in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has developed and approved cover, title pages with an indication of the certificate of registration of a periodical publication, founder, ISSN, subscription index, issue output data, editorial board, international editorial board and web -website.
            Articles published in the journal are registered in the CrossRef database and each article is assigned a DOI - a digital object identifier that is used to provide citation, references and output to electronic documents.
            The journal is indexed in the Kazakh Citation Database (KazCB) of the National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise (NCSSTE).

            The publishing is recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for publication of the main scientific results of dissertations of the specialty 09.00.00 - Falsafa Fanlari (See: List of Scientific Publishings recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Publication of Main Scientific Dissertations.             The editorial board of the journal and its international editorial board include well-known and authoritative Kazakhstani and foreign scientists.

          The journal’s editorial policy is developed by the Editor-in-Chief in close cooperation with a highly professional international editorial board. All articles, having undergone preliminary peer review by experts, are subsequently discussed by the editorial board. The journal publishes articles by well-known scholars from various research institutions and universities, and also welcomes contributions from promising early-career authors.

Purpose of the Journal

The purpose of the publication of the Al-Farabi journal includes promoting the development and increasing the social significance of the socio-humanitarian intellectual capital of Kazakhstan science

Goals of the Journal

The journal publishes research findings both in the field of traditional philosophical disciplines—such as ontology, epistemology, logic, ethics, aesthetics, social philosophy, history of philosophy, philosophy of culture, philosophy of politics, and others—and studies devoted to interdisciplinary issues at the intersection of philosophy and other fields of knowledge, including religious studies, cultural studies, political science, and the natural sciences. The journal is aimed at publishing fundamental and topical research in the fields of philosophy and philosophy of science.

All information on the site is given in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English, providing informational access to the site content not only for Kazakhstani, but also for foreign contingent of scientists and readers.

The site contains information on the editorial policy of the journal, its goals and thematic focus, conditions for article publishing, reviewing policy, publication ethics, data on the composition of the editorial board and international editorial board, as well as other information of interest to site visitors.

Authors and readers can familiarize themselves with the electronic versions of the current issue of the journal, as well as the archive of the issues for previous years. All publications of the journal in electronic form are distributed free of charge.

Privacy Terms

Information about the authors is published in the section of the journal "Our Authors". It contains the following information - full name, place of work, position held, academic degree, title.

The editorial board of the journal maintains confidentiality regarding the disclosure of information to peer reviewers about author (s) of article and to author (s) about peer reviewers. It also does not disclose information about articles under consideration to third parties.

Frequency of Publication

The journal is published 4 times a year. The languages of the publishing are Kazakh, Russian and English.

Published materials don’t necessarily reflect the points of view of the editorial board. The editorial staff reserves the right to select quality articles and is not responsible for the reliability of the information in the submissions.

Author fees

Authors of articles that have received approval for publication must pay for publication with an approved price list for publication in IPhPSRS scientific journals, as well as payment for registration of authors of articles in the CrossRef database. According to the approved price list: 10,000 tenge – for publishing an article in the journal, 2,000 tenge – for assigning a DOI to an article and 2,000 tenge - for registering each author of the article in the CrossRef database. 

A receipt confirming payment for publication in pdf format is sent by the author to the e-mail address of the editorial office of the journal.
