Abstract

This article discusses the phenomenon of Mahdi, which at all times caused a stormy resonance in society. Belief in the Messiah and the Mahdi as a savior who will establish justice in the world at the end of time is not only in Islamic culture, but this belief has a special place in many other religions, especially in Judaism and Christianity. Since the cultures of the world as a whole do not have their own pure characteristics, it is a natural phenomenon that the religions of the world also sometimes develop under the influence of the beliefs of other religions during their existence. What we can understand from this is that historical experience shows that any values, whether religious or cultural, as soon as there is a spiritual vacuum in society, it is filled with imported products, if not filled with the original values of the native space. The article presents a religious analysis of the reasons for the emergence of the Mahdi concept, which supposedly saves humanity from injustice and godlessness in the future, as a result of religious faith in historical times. This faith originates from numerous pre-Islamic beliefs and is an import value for Muslims. This faith is analyzed by the method of comparative analysis based on the primary source of Islam. In the article, faith in Mahdi is formulated as a political instrument disguised as religion.

Key words: Mahdi, Messiah, savior, doomsday, bases of Islamic faith.
