Abstract

The article examines e-learning as an important phenomenon of contemporary philosophy of education in the context of global digitalization. The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the essence of e-learning, its historical development, socio-cultural nature, axiological content and prospects for development within higher education. To achieve this aim, the article philosophically reflects on the digital transformation of the educational environment, the changing roles of the teacher and the learner, access to knowledge, academic equality, the culture of lifelong learning and digital competence. It is argued that e-learning is not merely a set of technical tools, but a new educational ecosystem that reorganizes human cognitive activity, independence, responsibility and communicative experience. The article analyzes the advantages and limitations of e-learning, the experience of Kazakhstan and European countries, its role in the post-pandemic period, and the influence of artificial intelligence and virtual technologies. The conclusion presents e-learning as an important factor in ensuring equal access to quality education, expanding opportunities for personal self-development, and preserving humanistic educational values in the new digital environment. The study substantiates the need for the further development of e-learning through the creation of high-quality digital content, the enhancement of teachers' digital competencies, and the establishment of an inclusive educational environment.
