The article is devoted to the socio-philosophical understanding of human potential in the digital knowledge society, where the problem of personal subjectivity acquires particular relevance. The study examines transformations occurring under the conditions of digitalization of social life, associated with changes in communication methods, knowledge production, and forms of human self-realization. The expansion of the digital environment transforms not only the mechanisms of interaction with informational reality but also the processes of identity formation, value orientations, and individuals’ perceptions of their own place in society. The concepts of the information society and the knowledge society are differentiated, making it possible to reveal the specific features of contemporary processes of social transformation. It is emphasized that, at the present stage, not only access to information but also the ability to critically comprehend, interpret, and responsibly use it acquires particular importance. The article analyzes the main philosophical approaches to understanding human potential and examines the influence of the digital environment on social practices and forms of personal self-determination. Particular attention is paid to the contradictory consequences of digitalization associated, on the one hand, with expanded opportunities for self-realization and access to cognitive resources and, on the other hand, with the risks of fragmentation of consciousness, weakening of reflexivity, dependence on information selection algorithms, and the loss of value foundations. The author substantiates the position that subjectivity serves as a necessary condition for the preservation and development of human potential, ensuring an individual’s capacity for independent thinking, critical perception of information, and conscious social action.
