The article studies the causes and consequences of the "cultural turn" in modern international relations theory. Considering the political entities as "culture" focuses the attention of scientists and practitioners on a rather vague term, which also has many interpretations. On the other hand, the concept of "culture" captures essential, though not evident, moments of the interaction dynamics between subjects of international relations. Highlight such moments by examining the possibilities and limits of using the category "culture" in analyzing the international-native processes; the logical and philosophical prism of analysis helps. It allows us to approach the understanding of specific social communities - subjects of international relations, interpreting them as different ways of meaning-setting (forms of describing ideal objects and values in a particular language and the material activities of its bearers). The reconstruction of semantic frameworks inevitably leads to a comparison of different cultures. The latter, in turn, intercultural communication is impossible without considering the process of their interaction. Despite extensive research literature covering valuable empirical material in detail, there is a shortage of working generalizations. The present study aims to fill theoretical gaps in intercultural communication. At the same time, emphasis is placed on such an aspect of communication as dialog communication.
