Abstract

This research paper explores the concept of ethnic identification and its complex nature influenced by various factors such as heritage, self-awareness, social structure, fluidity, complexity, intersectionality, importance, and influence. The study aims to understand the purpose and objectives related to ethnic identification by examining political and axiological approaches. The political approaches focus on power dynamics, nationalism, and minority group rights, while axiological approaches emphasize values, identity formation, and ethical notions associated with ethnic identification. The research utilizes a qualitative analysis employing the bibliometric method to review the literature in the field of political science. Data collection, bibliometric visualization, and analysis were performed to identify trends and patterns. The analysis reveals a significant interest in the topic of ethnic identification, with a growing number of articles published over the years. The article provides a comprehensive overview of studies published between 2019 and 2023, highlighting their key findings and contributions. The research underscores the relevance of understanding ethnic identification for building a just society and suggests that political and axiological approaches offer valuable insights into its complexity and implications.
