Abstract

Today, in many countries of the world, there are different protest moods among members of society. Therefore, it is important to identify the theoretical foundations of the phenomenon of protest, its mechanisms, prerequisites, and factors affecting society. The article provides an overview of foreign publications devoted to protests, analyzes the essence of the problem and basic concepts. The author paid special attention to the concepts of protest, consideration of political protest, protest around natural resources, and other aspects of the study of protests. The theoretical review summarized the views of foreign authors, determined the relationship between the concepts and systematized various data, substantiated the need to take into account in science not only the results of domestic research but also the results of empirical research by foreign authors since these works are important for the exchange of knowledge and experience between scientists in solving important scientific problems.
