Abstract

The authors of the scientific article examine the methodological and ontological aspects of the philosophical research of the phenomenon of multiple identity. The article analyzes the perspectives of both foreign and domestic scholars on the concept of identity. In the course of the research, using an interdisciplinary approach, the authors explore the transformations occurring in society in the contemporary era of digitalization, in a time marked by conflicts between traditional and technogenic ideals, as well as the models of new political, ideological, and cultural norms that emerge from multiple identity. Multiple identity is a philosophical concept that describes a state of the subject in which the «self» cannot be reduced to a single, stable, and non-contradictory center, but exists as a set of diverse forms of self-understanding that sometimes overlap and at other times conflict. Philosophically, it is important that these identities do not necessarily form a harmonious whole: tensions and ruptures may arise between them, experienced as existential instability, yet at the same time opening a space for freedom.
