Abstract

Stereotyping is an integral part of the historical consciousness of all peoples. In times of identity crisis, national stereotypes play a key role in intergroup communication. They become a powerful tool for perceiving ethnic groups, which can both promote mutual understanding and generate prejudices and biases, leading to interethnic tension and complicating dialogue between nations. To build a harmonious society, it is necessary to critically assess ethnic stereotypes and use various tools to foster positive ethnic tolerance.

Keywords: Ethnic stereotypes, ethnic identity, cultural differences, tolerance.
