Abstract

The politicization of Islam, it’s labelling in the context of the political component that influences political power and the political landscape, contributed to the emergence of the concept of «political Islam», which is interpreted from different perspectives, including the worldview. Political Islam has become one of the most popular Islamic themes, involving issues of Islamic identity, Islamic law, and the Islamic cultural paradigm. The authors of the article reveal the multidimensionality of this concept, represented in foreign and domestic discourses, identifying features, specifics of both the concept and presented discourses. Political Islam needs to be studied not only as a phenomenon associated with the politicization of Islam, but also as a scientific concept whose need to study is connected with sociocultural and religious processes.
