Abstract

This article discusses the main views on the concept of nationalism as a form of nation-building. Nationalism serves as a potent force in the process of nation-building. Nation-building refers to the efforts undertaken by a group of people to develop a shared sense of identity, common values, and a cohesive political community within a defined geographical territory. Nationalism, in this context, acts as an ideology and a set of sentiments that fosters a collective consciousness and loyalty among individuals towards a specific nation. Nationalism approaches to cultural identity, political unity, social integrity, nationhood and citizenship, economic development, and nation-building in the post-colonial context, which contribute to the process of nation-building, formed the basis of the hypothesis of this research work. An analysis of the relevance and critical views of the strengthening of identity and unity within the framework of nationalism, political mobilization, statehood and governance, economic development, and post-colonial identity in the process of nation-building was carried out. In the study, the findings of national scientists published in foreign journals were systematized. In the course of determining the features of considering nationalism as a form of nation-building, a political analysis was made of several conclusions. The research approaches reflect an integrated and multi-methodological strategy. The authors paid attention to dialectical, comparative, structural-functional, and descriptive methods.
